Who we work with

Over the years we’ve been involved in delivering some of the worlds largest and most logistically complex road-events in both road cycling & road running across the UK, Europe and rest of the world. The clients & events you can see below, give a brief insight into just some of the wide range of events we’ve been involved with and the variance of roles we’ve had.

Virgin Sport

LW Event Consulting are contracted to deliver the entire course operations for all Virgin Sport events which includes the Virgin Sport Hackney Half Marathon, Virgin Sport British 10k & Virgin Sport Oxford Half with a combined total of over 50,000 participants taking part across the three events each year.

Our role on each event includes taking the course element of each project through the entire stakeholder planning & permissions process. This includes the initial course development & design, as well as course capacity calculations and achieving sign off on the event route - through to the appointment of suitably experienced contractors and appointing a team of 20-25 experienced event staff to deliver all operational elements of the race route on race day.

Prudential RideLondon

Created by the Mayor of London and their partner agencies in 2013 as a legacy event for the London 2012 Olympic Games, Prudential RideLondon is a festival of cycling with over 100,000 participants of all ages and abilities taking part across the event weekend.

Playing a major role in the operational planning and delivery of the event in it’s inaugural year in 2013, our company Director Liam Worthy has continued to be involved on a contract basis ever since. Liam works closely with the full-time team to provide route management operations, logistics and delivery services for the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46 & 100 in which 35,000 participants take part & the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, which was awarded UCI WorldTour status in 2017.

Eroica Britannia

Eroica Britannia is the largest event in the worldwide L’Eroica series, and is a three-day family friendly festival created to celebrate the heritage of cycling and Britishness. The event attracts families and participants from the world over and brings them together in one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom - the Peak District National Park.

LW Event Consulting Ltd were contracted by Britannia Ahoy Ltd in 2017 to deliver route management and logistics services for 4,000 participants across the three different routes of 25, 55 and 100 miles in the beautiful Peak District National Park. This event brings unique challenges with the use of unpaved/gravel roads and trails which is a key feature of the L’Eroica event concept, with the majority of participants taking part on decades old vintage bicycles.

Red Hook Criterium

The Red Hook Criterium was founded in 2008 by Race Director David Trimble as a way to get his friends together for his 26th birthday. Twelve years later and the event has turned into a global event series with races in Brooklyn, London, Barcelona & Milan each year and athletes from over 40 countries taking part in each race.

In 2015, LW Event Consulting Ltd were appointed by Trimble Racing Ltd to deliver course management services for the full global series. Since then we’ve developed and tweaked the circuit management processes and safety procedures working to the tight specifications of the client while providing a consistent five-person management team at each of the 13 events over that four-year period, ensuring our team are fully integrated with the wider Red Hook Criterium delivery team. Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race - 2018

Appointed by the events delivery agency Sport Projects, we are asked to travel out to Melbourne, Australia to provide our expert knowledge and consultancy to assist their team in delivering a safe and successful series of events with the aim of showcasing the state of Victoria and the world renowned Great Ocean Road, while ensuring we deliver world class UCI Men’s World Tour & UCI Women’s World Tour events.


Pedal for Scotland - 2016, 2017 & 2018

After playing a key role in the successful tender pitch with WMP Creative LTD, LW Event Consulting LTD were contracted to deliver a complete route management service while providing project-wide event consultancy services to deliver this exciting Glasgow to Edinburgh closed-road charity cycle ride for event owners, Cycling Scotland.


Parallel London - 2017

Appointed by event owners Innovision soon after initial event conception, we were required to work closely with the London Legacy Development Corporation and other key stakeholders within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to design, plan and deliver fully inclusive and accessible 10k, 5k, 1k & 100m closed road courses for the inaugural Parallel London. Following the huge success of the event, we went on to win Participation Event of the Year & the Diversity & Inclusion awards at the flagship BT Sport Industry Awards 2018!


MR PORTER London Nocturne - 2016 & 2017

Appointed by FACE Partnership to provide course safety, design and management services, we brought together a team with significant experience of cycle racing to successfully deliver & manage this new racing circuit in the heart of the City of London.

Velothon Wales - 2015, 2016 & 2017

Contracted in 2015 by Lagardere UK Ltd and then in 2016 & 2017 by Run4Wales Ltd, our services included critical reviews of the event traffic management plan, developing the route risk assessment, providing technical consultancy on the UCI Pro Race as well recruitment and briefings of the event delivery course management team and being responsible for the overall safe delivery of the route on event day.


SixDay London - 2015, 2016 & 2017

We’re proud to have been contracted by Madison Sports Group, owners of the SixDay Series, to deliver key athlete liaison services for the SixDay London event in their first three years of delivery. We were tasked with the critical role of managing the athletes in liaison with the competition management, sports presentation and broadcast teams to ensure a seamless production for spectators & Live TV.


Etape Loch Ness - 2015 & 2016

During two important years in the event’s growth, Caledonian Concepts Ltd appointed us in both a consultancy and delivery capacity - firstly to critically review their risk assessment and course capacity & participant flow calculations and then to manage the delivery of the event in this iconic location, during event weekend.


The Milk Race - 2014 & 2015

Appointed by Podium Projects Ltd, LW Event Consulting delivered course safety & management services for the 1km criterium circuit around the heart of Nottingham City Centre whilst being required to work closely with the Race Director and Technical Officials.

Tour de France Grand Depart - Yorkshire 2014

Initially appointed as a Route Manager to the company set up as a subsidiary of UK Sport to deliver the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in the UK, Liam’s role soon developed to include a wider consultancy based role on all the key delivery areas including Traffic Management & Transport, C3 & Control Room Management, Business & Resident Communication Strategy, Safety & Security, Volunteer Management, Event Logistics and specialist technical cycling expertise.


Olympic & Paralympic Road Cycling - London 2012

Appointed on a full time contract as Route Operations Manager on the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Road Cycling events, Liam played an important role in both the planning and delivery of these events across four iconic venues, seven exciting days of competition and over 180km of unique road, from Central London to the rural Surrey & Kent countryside.
